Curricular Development Call for Proposals
The Stanford Center on Ethics
Invites Applications from Stanford Faculty for development of new courses or modifications of existing courses at the graduate
and professional school level for Spring 2008 and the academic year 2008-09

The Center will support new courses focusing on ethical issues or modifications of existing courses to include substantial ethical material. Successful applicants will receive $3,000-$8,000 per course to assist with development, research, student teaching assistance, design, technological support and guest speakers. Funds are not available for release time for teaching the course.
Criteria for consideration are as follows:
- the likelihood that the course will become a part of the faculty member's regular teaching portfolio;
- the course fit with the Center's core areas of concern with ethics as applied to social problems and public service;
- the opportunities that students might have to participate in public service projects or other ethics-related initiatives in conjunction with the course.
Applicants should submit a course description (no more than 5 pages) including a budget. The deadline for submission for Spring 2008 is December 7, 2007 and for the academic year 2008-09 March 15, 2008. Please direct all inquiries to:
